We are pleased to announce the launch of PL/ and our new website, plslash.com.
PL/ builds on the experience behind PL/PDF and extends the same Oracle-focused approach into a broader family of enterprise software components.
For many years, PL/PDF has provided document generation and PDF processing directly inside Oracle Database. With PL/, we are expanding beyond document generation into digital signatures, XML signing and other trusted digital business workflows.
PL/SIGN — digital signatures for Oracle
PL/SIGN provides standards-based digital signature infrastructure directly from Oracle and PL/SQL applications.
It supports CAdES signatures for application data and PAdES signatures for PDF documents, together with capabilities such as:
local and external signing;
HSM and remote signer integration;
RFC 3161 trusted timestamps;
PAdES B-B, B-T, B-LT and B-LTA workflows;
certificate path, trust and revocation validation;
detailed signature validation and diagnostics.
PL/SIGN is independent from document generation, so it can sign and validate documents produced by PL/PDF or by other systems.
PL/XSIGN — XAdES signatures for XML
PL/XSIGN brings the same approach to XML digital signatures.
It is designed for XML-based business workflows and supports:
XAdES B-B and B-T signatures;
enveloped and detached XML signatures;
local and external signing;
RFC 3161 timestamping;
XMLDSig and XAdES validation;
certificate path, trust and revocation validation.
PL/XSIGN integrates directly with Oracle XML and PL/SQL workflows, making it possible to sign and validate structured business documents and application data without introducing a separate signing platform.
Built for Oracle
The idea behind PL/ is straightforward: provide focused building blocks for Oracle applications instead of forcing existing business systems into a separate document, signing or workflow platform.
PL/ components are designed to remain close to the data and business logic already running in Oracle.
PL/PDF, PL/SIGN and PL/XSIGN are the first products in this growing product family. Additional PL/ components for reporting and electronic business workflows are planned.
Try PL/ products
PL/ products can be evaluated in two ways:
request an installation kit and a 31-day evaluation licence for your own Oracle environment; or
request access to the hosted PL/ sandbox and try the products without installing anything.
